Hiking in the Drakensberg

Coming up to visit us at Lane? We have some amazing hiking trails in the Drakensberg. Before you set off on your leisurely or strenuous stroll please see below some very important information from The Drakensberg Experience Tourism.
The Drakensberg Experience Tourism would like to strongly recommend that any hiker to the Drakensberg never to hike alone.
Please always fill in the mountain register and notify a third party of your intentional hiking route.
Ensure you have food, water, warm clothes and preferably a cell phone, even when you hike the lower berg.
Always check a detailed weather forecast before embarking on a hike. We have enclosed a list of contact numbers below for the relevant parks in the area should you or anyone else require information about the predicted weather and/or safety with regards to hiking at that particular time of the year.
Thank you very much for your understanding in this regard. We love our mountains and want everyone else to love it too and have the most amazing walks.
